Langtang Helambu Trekking is easily accessible from Kathmandu because of its low elevation. The area offers adventure trekking, mountaineering as well as pilgrimage treks. The area is quite popular for learning Tibetan culture where you can see many monastery and ethnic groups and panoramic view of the mountain between Annapurna to Mt.Everest. North of Kathmandu valley lays Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. Helambu is popular among the trekkers for its scenic grandeur & pleasant & favorable climate, located about 72 kilometres northeast of Kathmandu, is extending from north of Taramarang to the tree limit of the Gosainkunda Lake and lower slopes of Jugal Himal. Here the rare red pandas lurk in dense lichen-draped rhododendron thickets, heard of blue sheep graze the alpine meadows and lammergeyers glide over glaciated valleys amidst scenery of lofty Himalayan peaks. This trek starts from Sundarijal and ends in Melamchipul within eleven days so it is ideal for people with less time who do not wish to travel too far from the Kathmandu Valley.

    DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

    Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu

    Our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport, after introductory meeting transport you to hotel in Kathmandu. Rest of the day varies upon your arrival time; we can organize some activities if you arrived by midday or early afternoon but late afternoon and evening arrivals have a free day for individual activities. Take rest and free at afternoon, stay overnight at hotel.
     
    Day 02: Half day sightseeing & final preparation

    After breakfast, encounter the day by sight viewing tours to different historical, spiritual and cultural attractions; including the Swoyambhunath, one of the most glorious Buddhist Chaityas probably the oldest temple of Nepal, famous for its nickname as Monkey Temple which has been registered in UNICECO heritage side. Then we will Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, dedicating to Lord Shivalocated on the banks of the holy Baghmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the Ghats.
    From there our trip heads toward Boudhhatnath, the largest Tibetan Buddhist stupa of the valley located about 6km. away to the east of Kathmandu City, known as Khasti Chitya. The rest of our time in Kathmandu is free for further sightseeing, exploration & final preparation for next morning to trekking. In the late afternoon your tour guide will confirm departure information for the next morning. Stay overnight at hotel
     
    Day 03: Kathmandu to Sundarijal to Chisopani

    After an early morning breakfast we will take a 45 minutes drive to Sundarijal. We will climbs up through mixed forest and pass the Mulkharka village to Chisopani Danda (2150M). This takes about 6 hours. It is famous for some prominent trekking routes e.g. Langtang, Gosainkunda, and Helambu. We can get opportunity to take excellent views of mountains from east to west in the clear day; the panorama spreads from the mountains south of Everest to the Manaslu range. Stay overnight at tented camp.
     
    Day 04: Chisopani to Kutumsang

    After breakfast, we will head toward Kutumsang (7700 ft.) via Gul Bhanjyang. After about 3 hours walk we can reach Gul Bhanjyang. It is an easy trail and Gul Bhanjyang is a village with a mixed population of Gurung and Tamang.  After lunch, we will continue our trek toward Kutumasang where Sherpas and Tamang are found inhabited. From where, we can get splendid views, stretching from the Annapurna and Manaslu in the west to Number in the east. Stay overnight at tended camp.
     
    Day 05: Kutumsang to Tharepati
     
    After breakfast, we will climb up toward Mangegot, it takes approximately for 3hrs. Thereafter the trail gradually ascends through pine and rhododendron forest with good views down into the Helambu valley and across to Jugal Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa Nambru, Gauri Shanker and Numbur in the Solu Khumbu. Kutumsang to Tharepati (3,597m) trek takes normally 6 hours via Dada Kharka. At this place we cannot found any inhabitants. Stay overnight at tented camp.
     
    Day 06: Tharepati to Melamche Gaon

    After Breakfast, we will follow the descending way toward Melamche Gaon (7900ft), passing through the jungle area as well as Melamche stream for 3 hrs. Then after we will reach a big village near to the jungle and also a monastery, at Melamche Gaon where we will set the camp for overnight stay. 

    Day 07: Melamche Gaon to Tarke Ghyang
     
    After breakfast, we will follow descend walk about 2 hours. Todays trail leads us towards Tarkeghyang village (2,600m), known as the largest Sherpa settlement in Helambu, Passing through the jungle, village and cross the bridge. We will continue ascending walk for Tarkeghyang which takes normally 3 hours, on the way there are two monasteries and some village where you will have the opportunity to explore and observe the Sherpa culture and tradition as well as the visit of the oldest Buddhist monastery add the beauty on our trek. Stay overnight at guesthouse.
     
    Day 08: Tarke Gyang to Sermathang

    Todays trek toward Sermathang is comparatively easier through flat land with small beautiful forests and then the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. On the way we can see local farmers working in the fertile land. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sherpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. After passing a couple of streams and waterfalls, you'll end up in the village of Sermathang (2,610m). It takes about 4-5 hours walk. Overnight in Sermathang
     
    Day 09: Sermathang to Malemchi Puul Bazaar to Katmandu
     
    We will gradually descend down all the way to Melamchi pull bazaar (880m) through meadows and cultivated fields; in the distance you'll see the majestic views of rivers as well as Himalayans. Along the short way, we come across several old villages with their own particular traditions. After lunch we will catch a vehicle to Kathmandu, about 2-3 hours drive. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
     
    Day 10: Rest day & shopping
     
    This day is leisure day for you to rest after many days trekking. You can either relax whole day or you can explore around the city. You can roam around the shopping malls or you can buy handicrafts, Thankas and other various arts and sculptures in the markets. Rest of the time you can spend the evening leisurely, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping and celebrate dinner together with Nepali Travel staffs. Stay overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
     
    Day 11: Depart Kathmandu
     
    According to your flight schedule, it is varies on your departure time rest of day is at leisure for independent activities of your interest until we pick you up at the hotel or we could plan some activities upon your choice if it is late hour flight and then transfer to airport for your further destination.
